Recently, Ubuntu Linux developer’s team Canonical launched their Long Term Version – 22.04 Jammy JellyFish. Now, their next version with short-term support Ubuntu 22.10 known as Kinetic Kudu is available to download and try.
Kinetic Kudu is the codename Canonical has revealed for Ubuntu 22.10 version. Kinetic means kinetic, so this is about movement or kinetic energy. “Kudu”, on the other hand, is the term for an African antelope. The male kudus have impressively rounded horns.

Ubuntu 22.10 falls into an intermittent version category that the Canonical team released after the launch of their LTS version. Such versions are used as a base for the next Long Term Ubuntu Linux version. Hence, Kinectic Kudi will only get nine months of support.
Therefore, if you are a user who wants stability and looking for updates for a longer period of time without having to upgrade to a new Ubuntu version, it is better to remain stick to Ubuntu 22.04 LTS Jammy JellyFish until the next Long Term release. It is because the LTS versions get five years and even ten years of support for a fee (Extended Maintenance Release, ESM).

Those who want to test out the early version of Ubuntu 22.10 can download the Daily Builds of the OS. It means they will have the chance to experience the latest developments in the first place with the help of updates provided by the team of the OS developers. These “Daily Builds” can be found at this link.
As always, “daily builds” are by no means suitable for productive use and should only be tried out by users who are keen to experiment. Crashes and problems in use can occur at any time. Those who are looking for Sever Editon can go for its Daily Server builds.
